Welcome to the womanhood!
This is a place to talk about some of the weird, wonky, uncomfortable, and downright absurd things that women endure… coupled with travel adventures. That all makes sense right? I wanted to create a space that takes a holistic view of a woman’s (my) experiences. Something that’s not relegated to one single aspect. I’ve had my share of health issues, I think the patriarchy is trash, and I want to go scuba diving with sharks in Tahiti. Why should I pick one of those things to speak on?? I shan’t goddammit! I refuse to accept that we need to pick a lane and stick to it. My life, your life, everyone’s flippin’ lives are multifaceted and I want to speak on that.
Over the last several years I’ve been trying to figure out “what the meaning of life is” for me, and I’ve finally gotten there: I currently think that the point of life is mainly to learn and hopefully to have some fun; achieving both of those things in large part by international travel. Thus, where the name of this blog stemmed from. I ask a lot of people around me what they think the meaning of life is, and I have never heard anyone say the exact same thing as someone else. I anticipate that my meaning of life vastly differs from yours, and I love that! The beauty of life is that this experience is so uniquely our own, that no one else’s perspective or insights will directly relate to anyone else’s.
I want to have some fun conversations, and some tough ones. I will always be honest in my experiences, I commit to continuous growth (if I know anything it’s that I know nothing), and I can guarantee I’ll make myself and those around me uncomfortable on a fairly regular basis. In a good way… I hope hah.
I don’t know why anyone would care about what I have to say, but I’m doing this for me, and perhaps for that one other woman who has gone through something similar but didn’t have anyone to talk to. Or to the one other woman who feels different from everyone around her because all she wants to do is forget the outdated role that women have been assigned and go on a solo trip, because she has no kids and can do whatever TF she wants. I don’t know, but let’s have some fun and learn some shit. Strap in heauxs, we’re going on an adventure.
